Shut Up and Write (Or Edit)

Third Saturday of each month, 12.30 -3.00pm

Get together with writers and editors to work on your writing project. Any type of writing is relevant for this group: you can work on your thesis, marketing copy, novel, poetry, business plan or whatever writing project is occupying your mind right now.

We operate with pomodoro rules – 25 minutes of quiet writing or editing, followed by a 10-minute networking break. Each session involves four rounds of work, with a 20 minute networking break to finish. You can use the networking time to meet other writers and seek answers to your writing problems.

We work in the quiet meeting/cafe environment at Northside Meetings, with plenty of coffee and food available for purchase.

If you’ve never tried a Shut Up And Write (or Edit) session before, come along and see whether the structure is right for you.

The session is free, but you do need to register – via MeetUp at https://www.meetup.com/Brisbane-Shut-Up-And-Write-Or-Edit-Meetup/events/235091340/

This meetup is hosted by Brisbane-based writer/editor Judy Gregory. Judy is available for individual consultation and manuscript review and editing (this is a fee-based service). For more information about manuscript appraisal and writing support, contact Judy by email at judy@northsidemeetings.com.au or by phone on 0431 909 684.

The clock will start at 12.30pm sharp, so arrive early.

Men & Life: A talk about the authentic masculinity journey

Tuesday July 4, 7.30pm – 9:30pm

It is not news that men are facing real challenges in life, as the male sucide rate has never been so high and it is increasing. 2,292 men killed themselves in 2015 in Australia. 1 in 4 CEOs suffer from depression worldwide. Mental Health Plan, clearly, is not working, specifically for men.

In this event, Felipe Oliveira will lead a discussion about the challenges of depression, anxiety, PTSD and suicide as an invitation to a deeper journey. They will be approached as a door to the journey towards the Authentic Self, and not only as a clinical issue. The Authentic Male Journey is not new. In fact, it is very old, created and explored by the ancients mystics of all times.

Book now, come long and we will have a great conversation night on 4th July. Tickets are $12.50.

Meanwhile, you can visit the website, for vidoes and blogs about Authentic Masculinity: www.focfm.com.au.

See you then.
